The Original Head is asymmetrical with two different views to study; one side represents the face of a youth so it has less planes and the eyelid is closed, while the other side represents an adult and has a larger variety of planes as well as an open eye.
The Original Head was the first head created by John Asaro in 1976.

NOTE: The Original Head and Memorized Head both have planes so one can get a good understanding of the shape of the head and body and how light falls on them showing a variety of values to create the form.
